Enzyme Functionality Statement:
Product contains enzymes. Protease for protein hydrolysis; Cellulase for cellulose hydrolysis; Amylase for starch hydrolysis.
1One Hemoglobin Unit (HUT) of proteolytic (protease) activity is defined as the amount of enzyme that produces, in one minute under specified conditions (40°C, pH 4.7), a hydrolysate whose absorbance at 275 nm is the same as a solution containing 1.10 µg per ml of tyrosine in 0.006N hydrochloric acid.
2One Cellulase Unit (CU) is that activity that will produce a relative fluidity change of one in five minutes in a defined carboxymethylcellulose substrate under the conditions of an assay (40°C, pH 4.5).
3One Dextrin Unit (DU) of alpha-amylase activity is defined as that amount of enzyme that will dextrinize soluble starch at the rate of 1g per hour at 30°C.
Holistic Select Weight Management Chicken Meal & Peas Recipe Dog Food is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for maintenance.
Feeding Guidelines:
Transitioning to Holistic Select®
It is important to slowly transition your dog from his/her current diet as it takes a few days for the body to adapt to the new nutrient levels. To transition, gradually mix in the new food over a 5-7 day period, increasing the amount of Holistic Select each day, so that you are feeding 100% Holistic Select by day 7.
Determining Feeding Portions
Looking at the chart, divide the total cups per day by the total number of times you feed your dog per day to determine the portion size for each meal. Keep a clean bowl of fresh water available at all times. Holistic Select believes in feeding dry and wet food in combination whenever possible to help increase the level of water in your dog’s diet.
Recommended Feeding Portions
(based on a standard 8 oz dry measuring cup) Every dog is different so optimal feeding amounts may vary with age, size and activity level. Please use this information as an initial recommendation only and adjust as needed.
