Chinchilla Toys
Many chinchillas enjoy hanging chinchilla toys with bells on the bottom and wood blocks (usually pine or fir) stacked on the chain. They delight in chewing off the blocks of these chinchilla toys and like the sound of the bell these chinchilla toys make. It is important that chinchillas have adequate items to chew as their teeth continually grow. If you use any wood in the cage as chinchilla toys, be sure to change it often as wood can harbor fungus and bacteria.
Chinchilla Wheels
Many chinchillas will use a chinchilla exercise wheels. They should be large and have a solid surface with no spokes for the chinchilla's small feet to get caught in. The large enclosed balls for running about outside the cage should be used with caution, as they are a bit low on ventilation and chinchillas could overheat. If you choose one of these, only allow your chinchilla to spend short periods in it at a time, and avoid its use if your house is warmer than usual in summer.
